Wakefield
New Hampshire
Granted 1749 by Governor Benning Wentworth, having originally been known as Ham's town. Easttown and Watertown. In corporated 1774 by Governor John Wentworth as Wakefield, bearing the name of Sir John Ker, Earl of Wakefield. Part of Milton annexed 1858. Carroll county, first congressional, first councilor and fourth senatorial districts.
