Granted 1763 by Governor Benning Wentworth as Concord and 1764 as Chiswick, bearing the name of Chiswick Castle, the home of the Duke of Devonshire. Regranted 1768 as Gunthwaite and in corporated 1824 as Lisbon. Grafton county, second congressional, first councilor and second senatorial districts.
